WHO WILL WIN THE ULTIMATE #POKERRACE ?

Poker Race is a card game based on a travelling reality TV show called "The Amazing Race" featuring familiar elements like "Route Info", "Detour", "Road Block", "Fast Forward", "U-Turn" and "Speed Bump".  Poker Race is also a creative party game that you can compete with individuals or teams of two incorporating quirky challenges.  It is like a race in the comfort of your own surroundings with strangers, colleagues, friends and famlies.

Are you ready? Poker Race is waiting for you!  Good luck, play safe and go!

WHAT IS IN THE BOX?

57 cards including the following:

36 Route Info cards, 4 Detour cards, 4 Road Block cards, 5 Fast Forward cards, 4 U-Turn cards, 4 Speed Bump cards, 2 Intersection Joker cards and 2 information cards from The Amazing Hunt.

HOW TO SETUP THE GAME?

For each Poker Race deck, it is best to pay with 4 to 5 racers/teams.  If you have multiple decks of Poker Race cards, you can increase the racers/teams.  For a 4 racers/teams game, each racer/team will be dealt with 10 cards.  For a 5 racer/teams game, each will be dealt with 8 cards.  Then, place the remaining cards in a draw pile in the centre of the table.

HOW TO START THE GAME?

We suggest the person who has traveled the most recently starts the game first.  This is a good way to share your past travel stories, exchange some travel tips and talk about future travel plans.

On your turn, you can do one of the following:

  1. Play a card on yourself or on another racer/team.  Each racer/team should place the card they play in front of them.  Each subsequent card they play or other racer/team plays on them should be placed on top of their previous card.

  2. Pick a card from the draw pile.

We suggest each racer/team announces the card they play when the play area is big or when there are more than 6 racers/teams per game.

The game ends when any racer/team finishes playing their last card or when the draw pile is empty.

WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF POKER RACE?

The goal of Poker Race is simple.  The racer/team with the most Route Info travel points at the end of the game wins.  Attention!  It is important to know how many points other racers/teams have before you decide to end your game with the last card.  If your Route Info travel points are lower than other racers/teams, consider drawing cards instead of ending the game.

TYPE OF CARDS AVAILABLE IN POKER RACE

There are seven different types of cards in a Poker Race deck that can be identified by their elements or by colours:

ADVANCED RULES/PARTY GAME STYLE!

Poker Race can also be a serious competition just like the reality TV show "The Amazing Race".  Additional rules can be applied such as the following:

  • Poker rules with Route Info cards

Poker Race deck is designed to also be used as a real poker deck.  Poker elements can be infused at your own discretion especially when there are multiple decks being played in one game.  We suggest the racer/teams can play multiple Route Info cards when they have a one-pair or a straight.

  • Actual challenges with Detour cards

When a racer/team plays a Detour card on another team, they must complete a challenge like a puzzle, a physical activity, a truth or dare, or anything you can come up with that is fun and safe.  If the racer/team successfully complete the challenge, they can take two additional turns.  However, if they fail the challenge, the racer/team will skip their next turn.  It is always good to come up with two challenges so they can choose either one challenge or another like a real Detour.  Let us know what ideas you have for great challenges that each with its pros and cons.  E-mail us at theamazinghunt@gmail.com

POKER RACE IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH "THE AMAZING RACE", ITS FRANCHISE OR CBS TV NETWORK.
